Our workshops

Now based in Dax, in les Landes, the Ateliers Nectoux were founded in Paris in 1930. There, unique countertops are handmade from pewter ingots. These bespoke pieces can reach lengths of several tens of meters.

An average of a hundred hours of work is required to make a custom-made bartop. Every month, around ten countertops are produced by our Ateliers. In-house training of younger generations ensures that our know-how is passed on. Indeed, there is no school for our trade. Our specialization is passed down from generation to generation. Our skills and even most of our tools have remained the same, ever since the creation of the company in 1930. It takes up to three years to master this craft. We also refurbish antique pieces of Bistrot furniture so that the Café spirit can be delivered to your home.

A word from our director

Today, a countertop will often be designated as a ‘Nectoux’. Our name has become part of common knowledge because we are the last one amongst the references of the Faubourg Saint-Antoine in Paris.

Pewter countertops are emblematic and express the French “Savoir Vivre”. They have grown beyond the traditional and convivial world of Bistros to find themselves at the center of exclusive restaurants, hotels, and even department stores.

Centimeter by centimeter our countertops are brought to life in our workshop. It takes up to three years of training with the older generation of artisans to master the handcrafting of one of our countertops. This considerable time and acquired dexterity give our custom-made countertops an unrivalled patina and brightness.
