edge profile n.24
12.5 cm
There is something remarkable, almost royal about the reliefs of this early 20th century edge profile, similarly to the Edge profile n.25 that is contemporary to it. The n.24 is hardly picked nowadays. Is it too fancy? Is it because most clients often asked for a raise? Recently, it has been lifted into waves, oftentimes on sober furniture.
You can have a closer look at the ‘Cabanon’, in the Batignolles district. This countertop was welded on site to fit supporting pillars of the building in it. The waves of the countertop shine even brighter thanks to the ebony paneling. The luxurious, plentiful and wavy vegetation on the wallpaper also highlights the brass lights. It feels like a magic garden somewhere in the tropics. This setting is lit by moving glass walls leading to a terrace with Gatti chairs. The chair braids are painted like the walls… Iconic!
Countertops n.110 and n.102 were refurbished with this edge profile.
