Traditional pewter edge profiles, true reflections of artisanal craftsmanship, bring a touch of timeless elegance to ZINCS. These edge profiles come in various styles, ranging from Belle Époque to Art Deco, reflecting trends from the 1900s to the 1930s. Each piece is handcrafted, ensuring uniqueness and exceptional quality. Ateliers Nectoux uses cast steel molds, the oldest dating back to 1872, preserving century-old manufacturing techniques. Since 1930, they have upheld and innovated within this craft, contributing to the global reputation of French craftsmanship. The edge profiles are available in different dimensions to suit various types of pewter bars. Ateliers Nectoux offers a variety of styles and sizes to fit all types of environments. The selection includes 27 traditional edge profiles, ranging from the most classic to the most contemporary designs. We provide a broad range with widths varying from 6.5 cm to 26 cm.
- Ateliers Nectoux offers a wide selection of curved designs, rounded shapes, and arabesques reflecting the Art Nouveau style.
- The appearance of cabochons is a signature element of the transitional period between Art Nouveau and Belle Époque. This style features edge profiles that embody the bistronomy spirit across different eras.
- The aesthetics of traditional edge profiles are also characterized by a very sleek style with simple, straight forms (Edge Profiles 2, 15, and 19). These are highly popular as they allow a blend of traditional and modern styles. Notably, the establishments of Yves Camdeborde appreciate the timeless elegance of our Edge Profile No. 19, which enhances a modern and refined design.
- Finally, Ateliers Nectoux offers an Art Deco range of edge profiles, characterized by their smaller size (6.5 cm to 8 cm) and bold geometric lines, including reliefs and geometric ornaments. Their shapes maintain an avant-garde elegance.
Each customer’s journey begins with selecting a model/design that matches their desired style. Every pewter edge profile is the result of meticulous artisanal craftsmanship, ensuring a unique piece. The edge profiles, whether simple or decorative, can be mounted with or without an upturn, demonstrating the malleability of pewter. Traditional pewter edge profiles embody exceptional artisanal expertise, bringing a touch of timeless elegance to pewter bars.
To celebrate our 90th anniversary in 2020, we launched eight new edge profiles to provide a fresh experience for our clients.
While the brilliance and warmth of a pewter countertop remain unchanged, the sleek lines of these more industrial and modern-style edge profiles also attract a new clientele.
The pursuit of comfort and beauty is at the heart of this new collection. The absence of cabochons or decorative engravings does not mean that we now exclude all ornamentation—far from it. We do not seek to be monolithic. However, contemporary trends often reference, sometimes paradoxically, timeless lines, older buildings (particularly early 20th-century North American architecture), or styles borrowed from classic furniture.
Edge Profile No. 108 (10 cm) adorns the pewter countertop of the PinUp Bar (10 Rue Puget, 75018 Paris), another creative cocktail venue where inventive South American cuisine is served.
The countertop remains the gravitational center; it is the focal point of the beautiful brasserie “Au Comptoir” (9 Rue de la Grange aux Belles, 75010 Paris). The two counters, adorned with Edge Profile No. 105 (9 cm), serve as the platforms of this new bistronomy destination near Canal Saint-Martin. Similarly, at Pépite (20 Rue de Nemours, 75011 Paris), the talented chef Étienne Méot offers original, refined yet simple cuisine—always served on Edge Profile No. 105.
Bistros require time, nostalgia, and memories… yet, these new edge profiles have already found their place at the heart of Parisian life—just as they have abroad. The counter at the new Bilboquet in West Palm Beach (245A Worth Ave, Palm Beach, FL 33480, USA) proudly features Edge Profile No. 102 (8 cm). Meanwhile, the gastronomic Gong (29 Rua das Gáveas, Lisbon, Portugal) has chosen Edge Profile No. 101 (8 cm).
Pewter table edge profiles embody a subtle blend of tradition and timeless elegance. Inspired by classic pewter edge profiles, some faithfully reproduce the center of traditional edge profiles while incorporating a modern touch. These edge profiles are often adorned with delicate motifs such as cabochons, recalling the bistronomy spirit and evoking the refinement of past-era tables while combining geometric motifs for a contemporary feel.
Other table edge profile styles, such as No. 2, feature a simple, straight shape with a smooth finish, highlighting the natural beauty of pewter.
By integrating these traditional elements into contemporary design, these pewter table edge profiles provide a true continuity with the past while seamlessly adapting to modern interiors. They add warmth and conviviality to your space, as the brilliance of pewter brightens the environment.
Thus, these pewter edge profiles tell a story—a tale of craftsmanship that transcends eras and enhances every table with discreet yet magnificent elegance. These pewter table surfaces are also highly functional, as they are very easy to clean with a damp cloth.
Each custom edge profile is handcrafted. We offer a wide range of possibilities in terms of shapes, dimensions, and finishes, including half-round, semi-round, and flat edge profiles.
Customization is based on a unique adaptation: each piece becomes a distinctive creation, crafted in close collaboration with the client to precisely meet their needs. At Ateliers Nectoux, everything is adjustable. Our artisans modify the height, width, angles, radii, and curves of the edge profiles according to the exact constraints and expectations provided by the client. Custom edge profiles feature sleek lines for a contemporary decor or more elaborate details in the shape of “airplane wings” for cocktail bars. Each edge profile is designed to integrate perfectly into the desired environment.
We have also observed that the “countertop” is evolving in its nature, usage, and position within layouts and spaces. For several years, people have increasingly used it for dining. Today, dishes are shared at the counter. Cocktail bars are also evolving, where everything is prepared before your eyes, and the bottles and ingredients for your drink are displayed at the same level as your glass. This has led to the need for much wider countertops. This evolution is why we designed the new cocktail bar at Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme (5 Rue de la Paix, 75002 Paris) with a custom edge profile.
The custom pewter edge profiles offered by Ateliers Nectoux illustrate exceptional craftsmanship where personalization is paramount. The finishes are also fundamental to this tailor-made approach. The pewter patina can be hammered to achieve an aged and authentic look, depending on client preferences. Additionally, specific patterns or engravings can be added to create a truly unique and personal piece.
Ateliers Nectoux offers a bespoke creation experience where each request is carefully studied. Each edge profile is not only an exceptional piece in terms of craftsmanship but also in the story it tells. Tradition and innovation combine to highlight a personalized aesthetic and style.
